In short, you increase the amount of hard drive space allocated using VMware Virtual Machine properties, then logon to the VM and goto Disc Management->rescan disks. It shows the extra space unallocated…Extend the volume, you’re done.

NOTE: It’s only this easy if you are extending the only or last volume on the disk. If you have more than one volume and you want to extend any but the last then you probably need a tool.

*As a general rule, only use one volume per disk.*
