“An update is currently being downloaded” “You will be notified when the download is complete.”

This displays, but there is also an orange alert triangle still on the top status bar of the phone’s screen.  It won’t go away and even though you’re connected to a Wi-Fi connection, it still says: “Download will resume in Wi-Fi coverage.” 0% shows as having been downloaded…

System Version: 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US
Android Version: 2.3.4

Things to try:

  1. Save yourself some time and skip right to updating the firmware on the phone via USB cable connection.
The latest software version as of 3/8/2012 is Blur_Version.4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.US
    Goto: http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-EN/Android_Products/ATRIX-4G_Software_Update_Page
Either try the manual update or the automatic Motorola Software Update application.  Manual update failed for me but MSU worked.
    Get the MSU HERE: http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/motosupport/source/SoftwareUpdateSummary.asp?country=USA&language=ENS&web_page_name=SUPPORT&strCarrierId=ATT&strPhone=Motorola%20ATRIX%28TM%29%204G&strCable=Micro%20USB%20Data%20Cable
  2. If that doesn’t work then your next step is a HARD RESET.  Good luck!
