I was looking online for a good macro for MS Word that would take a word or phrase and tell me how many times it appeared in the document.
While it was probably my document that was messed up, I couldn’t get any of the macros I found to work, not even one that came from Microsoft’s website itself! Every time it would search, it would find the first occurrence on each line. It wasn’t counting multiple occurrences on the same line.
Regardless, there is an easy way to get around this: Simply use the REPLACE feature and put the same word or phrase in the FIND and REPLACE fields and hit Replace All. This will give you a count of how many times it replaced it in the document without messing up the document.
