Verizon Wireless MiFi 2200 wireless access point mobile broadband router and Apple iPad setup issue.
In my case, the error: “Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding” was due to the device not Activating correctly. It kept showing spotty service or “Programming Failed” when I tried to use the Verizon VZAccess Manager software to do the Activation. It even looked like it failed in the middle of Activation.
So I kept trying it until it appeared to work, but it still wouldn’t Connect to the broadband network (even though I could get the iPad to connect to the MiFi’s WiFi network), so I tried web activation…no dice…so then I called their telephone activation, and entered in the mobile number they associated with the device. This completed successfully and it advised me to try the VZAccess Manager program Activation again, but when I did it, I received the “Programming Failed.” message again and also gave a 201 Failure message when attempting to retreive usage data. No problem because when I used the iPad, I was able to connect to the device and now it’s working properly.
So, to recap, if you get that message above:
- Call the Telephone support line and Activate the device. You will need the device’s phone number, your billing passcode and your billing zipcode.
- After that’s complete, you should be able to use the device.
- Don’t forget to setup a different password for the Admin section of the MiFi.
