System: Windows XP SP3
Software: Microsoft Office 2007
FULL ERROR:
EventID: 1004
Detection of product ‘{00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}’, feature ‘SpellingFiles_ESN’, component ‘{52632CF6-8AAB-11D2-900A-00805F9B1201}’ failed. The resource ‘C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof\MSSP3ES.LEX’ does not exist.
The file being referenced is the Spanish Dictionary. Sure enough, the file isn’t there and it’s nowhere on my computer!
A search of the internet reveals a couple other people with the same situation, but no real solution. Not that it’s an actual problem per se, because I haven’t noticed anything not working, I simply believe in investigating any errors I see in the log files. Others have reported such issues as Office crashing when they run spellcheck…
Anyway, I found the files on another computer with the same version of Office as myself: 12.0.6535.5002 SP2
Copied them to my computer and it appears that solved the issue. Below is a link to a ZIP containing the LEX as well as the DLL of the same filename just in case.
Copy them to your Proof directory and you should be good to go.
