TCP/IP has chosen to restrict the scale factor due to a network condition. This could be related to a problem in a network device and will cause degraded throughput.

This error isn’t a dealbreaker but it is something to be concerned about.

The TCP Window Scale is an option that is set when your computer conducts the TCP 3-way handshake with a remote system.  Issues can arise when a router or packet firewall in the path rewrites the Scale Factor, causing unstable traffic to pass back and forth.

You may notice that internet traffic is slower than it should be, or other network issues.

The first thing I did was to install a newer driver for my Wireless b/g network adapter.  I haven’t seen the error since.
