Computer won’t startup – Halt on mup.dll

Had a computer that wouldn’t startup.  Kept rebooting and the Keyboard was locked up as well.

To get the keyboard back I reset the BIOS to defaults.  Then tried to startup in Safe Mode, but it was halting on the MUP.DLL line.  I thought it might be tied to hard disk errors or an issue with the AGP drivers since they were next on the list to execute.

Pulled the hard disk and installed in another machine.  Scanned and fixed some hard drive errors and it still wouldn’t boot, so I changed the AGP settings in the BIOS, setting 4x instead of Auto and disabling what I could.

Booted fine.
