On every cold startup, computer displays:
“Invalid Boot.ini file
Booting from C:\WINDOWS\” and then, after a reset from that point, it will boot to Windows XP Pro.
10/31/06 – Cause unknown. Followed directions at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289022 to edit the Boot.ini file and set everything to the default configuration as described in that document. Did complete shutdown of computer and restarted. No error this time. Have the user report the error if it resurfaces.
